Super Girl!

Lili Jo picked out a Super Girl costumer for her costume this year.

Thumb Sucking...

So, the time has come that we're going to try to break your thumb-sucking habit. On Sunday we stopped at Walmart and bought the No Bite nail polish. On the way home you thought you were going to take a nap and also suck your thumb, but you took it out of your mouth very quickly with a very sour look on your face. So, we talked about the fact that sucking your thumb is yucky (which the taste reinforces) and that only babies need to suck their thumbs, and you're not a baby, you're a big girl. That night you did fine and only tried a couple times to suck your thumb...here we are now at Wednesday and you're not even trying. I think that we might be getting through this easier than I thought we would.

A Chilly Spring Day...

Today was a bit colder than it has been, but we had some fun outside anyways.

You didn't really want to have yours taken, not that that's surprising. This was the end of one of your Drama Queen tantrums...it got you nowhere as usual.

Today you decided to "catch frogs" in the rainwater stream in the backyard.

And now you're clobbering them.


When we were all done with the frogs, it was time to play on the play set a bit. You have so much fun on the slide!

Fun at Chuck E. Cheese!

On Tuesday night's Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kim watch you while we're at Bible study. Tonight Grandma Sheila invited you guys to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. You guys had lots of fun!

The Hat

Every Thursday we go to McDonald's for a play date. You looked so cute in your pigtails that I had to snap a picture or two before we headed out.

2 Year Doctor Visit

After rescheduling several time because of snow and ice, we finally got to see Dr. Amy for your 2 Year checkup. Dr. Amy said everything was checking out just fine and you were perfectly healthy. She did say that we needed to put some weight on you, which is a job in and of itself since you don't ever want to eat anything. Very frustrating!

You height was 34" tall and your weight was 25 pounds. Your head circ. was 49.4cm. On the growth chart, you were in the 60% for height, 30% for weight and 90% for your head size. Thankfully you didn't need any shots today, so you were quite happy.

A Day in the Life of Lili at 2

Wow, another year has passed. I cannot believe how big you've gotten. It seems like only yesterday that we brought you home. So much has changed since that day. You run with your "crazy legs" and love playing with Bella and her big girl stuff. We cannot wait to see the changes in the coming year and years. Mommy and Daddy are both so proud of you.

A Typical Day in the life of Lili Jo at age two.

At age two you wake up between 7am and 8am and have breakfast. You love french toast for breakfast and also having cereal (Cookie Crisp and Peanut Butter Capt'n Crunch are your favorites). After breakfast we all play for a while. On Thursday's at 10am we go to McDonald's for playtime and lunch (You LOVE ketchup, oh, and Fries, but mostly the ketchup). We usually have lunch between 11:30 and 12:30pm. After you're done eating, we take Bella to school and then you and mommy play or watch cartoons for about half an hour and then it's nap time! (Yay for mommy!) Nap time usually falls around 1:30pm. On good days you nap for 3 hours, but usually it's for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Daddy gets home from work between 5:30 and 6:00pm, so we have dinner around 6:30pm. You're a very picky eater, so you don't eat much. You like corndogs, peas, corn, fruit, and mashed potatoes. Sometimes you'll eat pizza too. M&Ms are high on your list of favorites, along with suckers. Fruit Snacks, animal crackers, and goldfish are favorite treats. After dinner you usually play with Bella or Daddy, or both. Around 8:00 we usually put in a movie so you two can wind down a bit before bed. Bed time is at 8:30pm. You're sleeping in your own room in the crib still, although I think we could move you to the big girl bed at any time now and not have any problems. We've tried potty training just a bit and you've gone on the potty a couple times, but at this point, you're far from potty trained.

I guess I should tell you now - you don't like to have your picture taken. You're definitely a challenge to get a picture that you're not a blur from moving or crying in. Hopefully this will change, but it's not Mommy's fault we don't have many pictures of you!

New things you're doing: Saying sentences...you've really started talking up a storm in the past few months. You love music, dancing, and singing. You are now wearing 18mo jeans (although you could probably fit into 12mo waist if they were long enough), 18mo shirts, and size 6 - 6 1/2 in shoes. Favorite shows/movies: Veggie Tales, Dora the Explorer, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Monsters Inc, Gumbi and Underdog.
